Accommodation: The Perisher Lodge accommodates a total of 20 persons and is centrally heated. There are 8 bedrooms on the top floor, each with two single beds and an ensuite. The ground floor has a 2-bedroom self-contained flat. The flat allows the use of the Lodge by small parties without the necessity to open the main accommodation area.
Management: One member in residence, whilst on their own holiday, will act as the Lodge Manager who will be responsible for ensuring the lodge is used cooperatively and as intended by the members and their guests.
Housekeeping: Guests manage their own housekeeping such as cooking and cleaning. Members and their guests must bring their own towels and bathmats at all times of the year. Doonas and pillows are provided, with sheets and pillow slips are provided by the Club during the WINTER SEASON ONLY,; please bring sheets and pillow slips at ALL OTHER times of the year. There are laundry facilities and drying room for clothing and footwear.
Entertainment: The lodge includes a sauna, the usual assortment of cards, board games and the like and has a separate rumpus/TV room with regular TV and Google Chrome for streaming favourite shows and sports as well as a large Finnish Sauna to help sooth those tired muscles after a long day exploring the fabulous snow-covered mountains of Kosciuszko National Park.
Booking format: During the ski season, the Perisher Lodge is, in the first instance, to be booked in 7-night blocks that run from Saturday until the following Saturday. Alternate arrangements are possible outside of the peak winter season and where short-term gaps are identified during the winter period. All bookings must be made through a financial Club member.
Access and Check-in: For arriving members and their guests with confirmed bookings. Incoming residents may not occupy the lodge before the outgoing occupants have cleaned and vacated the upstairs area. Incoming residents may leave their luggage in the downstairs rumpus room while waiting for the outgoing residents to complete their tasks.
Stores: Stores provided are free for members and their guests and include tea, coffee, salt and pepper, brown and white sugar, flour, rice, rolled oats, herbs and spices, alfoil and gladwrap. Also provided are cleaning materials and toilet paper. Bread, milk, meat and groceries may be purchased at the supermarket in the Perisher Ski Tube Terminal during winter, or Jindabyne at other times of the year.
Smoking: Smoking is not permitted inside the Perisher Lodge. Smokers are requested to smoke outside the lodge.
Parking and Transport: In the snow season, only day parking is allowed in Perisher Valley. Cars must vacate the car park by 12 midnight. Cars may be left in the visitors’ car park at Sawpit Creek but currently there are no regular shuttle buses. Overnight parking is available at the Bullocks Flat Ski Tube Terminal on the Thredbo road. Trains operate from this point to Perisher Valley and to Blue Cow resort. Our Club owns a small Argo tracked oversnow vehicle. This is to be driven only by the Lodge Manager, or others specifically authorised by the Board and licensed by the National Parks Office. The vehicle is, at the authorised member’s convenience, available to carry member/guest ski equipment and luggage to and from the transport terminal and the ski centre. Incoming residents are advised to phone the lodge to ascertain its availability. Oversnow transport (4Site) may be hired in Perisher if the Club Argo and driver are not available. Misuse of the Argo by any member will result in disciplinary action being taken by the Board. In the off-season cars may park in the designated car park roadside and adjacent to the lodge.
Garbage: Garbage collection by the NPWS occurs during the snow season. Please ensure that you separate items for recycling as appropriate – please observe signs in the lodge regarding garbage and recycling. Currently, collection occurs on Tuesday and Friday; waste must be placed in the checker-plate boxes by 9am. At other timed of the year, rubbish/recycling must be taken to the Perisher waste transfer station located behind the fire and ambulance stations.
